Former IDTV alumni FTW! (for the win!)

Folks in BCST 149 should still remember the videos we watched on Wednesday morning over in AX 168, right?
Both video creators (MMJ/reporter and AP [associate producer]) were still students enrolled in IDTV last year when the landed or zeroed in on their job around the end of class.
Wednesday, we watched Kay’s compilation reel of stuff she’s been shooting with the station she works at in Eureka with KIEM-TV 3
Check out and support her still humble YT channel – she deserves it.

We also watched a bit of an episode of KQED’s “Check, Please”
A co-producer was, again last year’s IDTV student, Kenrick (so get jobs after this class, will ya please, I want to keep my good record going).
If you’re interested in his work you can follow him at:

About mishavideo

Misha grew up in Germany, raised hell in Colorado, got serious in Theater studies in the early 90's back in Berlin, Germany. After a 4-year effort at becoming a roof and shipwright-style carpenter, he dove into media (specifically visual media) production and studies for good around the end of the 90's. Perpetually struggling in the late 90's/early 00's while new economists enjoyed the web boom, he committed himself to school at SF State (BA & MA) and his new, long-term job as a video editor for MX Entertainment. In 2006, he threw up his hands and headed off to Korea to teach video editing and production for 3 semesters until returning to a faculty position at City College of San Francisco's Broadcast Department (BEMA) as of fall 2007.

  1. Not only did I receive an excellent education from the coursework at BEMA in CCSF, but I gained a great network in crew members, mentors, and resources into the industry. I truly appreciated being “thrown into the fire” of video productions, pitching my projects, and the hours of editing.

Working at KQED was also an education where I learned work-flow, business relations, and professional level productions. I recognized immediately the collective of intelligence among producers and journalists, which encouraged me to work with the same quality and passion.
